Introduction

The columns in this site are written to provide practical information to consumers on using computers and the Internet and to report on how companies and organizations in the Philadelphia area (especially nationally prominent organizations such as The Vanguard Group and QVC) are using computers and the Internet to achieve their organizational goals.

All of the columns in this site were published in the print version of the Tech Times Section of The Daily Local News, West Chester, Pennsylvania.

This web site was created because the Tech Times Section does not appear in the online edition of The Daily Local News. As is common newspaper practice, The Daily Local News online edition does not contain the complete content of its print edition.

Of local importance, the newspaper version of the columns also includes information about the Chester County Interlink (CCIL): "The mission of CCIL - an all-volunteer group - is to provide easy and equitable access to the Internet for those who live or work in Chester County. CCIL exists on donations by users and grants. It is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation and donations are tax deductible. Grants are always welcome. For more information on CCIL as an Internet provider, go to http://www.ccil.org or call 610-431-2673."

Biographical Sketch of Greg Gore

"Any definition of yourself is a container." Ram Dass

Notwithstanding the observation above, over a thirty-five year career, Greg has been an editor, writer, publisher, accountant, systems analyst, trainer, salesman, and entrepreneur. In 1988, he launched Praxis International, Inc., a technical training, consulting, and publishing firm.

Prior to founding Praxis, he held various management positions in profit and not-for-profit organizations ranging in size from start-up to the Fortune 500.

Recognizing that the common denominator of his career is "salesman," Greg authored 101 Ways to Succeed in Selling with the hope that others might benefit from the lessons he learned during thirty-five years of wide-ranging sales experience. (Download free PDF version or click here for more information or click here for a printable order form for the print version). In addition to editing and publishing Praxis International, Inc. books, he has edited two other books, To Be A Publisher and The Engineer's Master Guide to EMI (Electromagnetic Interference Control), and has written technical articles for professional journals.

Other credits include photo illustrating two books, Mugging: You Can Protect Yourself and Command Train Your Dog, and scripting, directing and/or producing films and videos for Prentice-Hall, the Association of American Publishers, and Vector Marketing Corp. He is a recipient of the U.S. Film Festival's Silver Screen Award.

Greg is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and the Association of Old Crows (AOC), the Electronic Warfare & Information Operations Association.
